Wallace And Gromit A Matter of Loaf and Death

Watching the early Wallace & Gromit films (The Wrong Trousers, A Grand Day Out, A Close Shave) was one of the great joys of raising a child. My son loved them, one and all, but no more than I.

Created by the brilliant Aardman Animations of England, they were smart, funny, and absolutely remarkable in their mastery of stop-motion animation. The dog-master relationship of this eccentric inventor and his brilliant and far-brighter-than-he dog made for more belly laughs than I’ve ever experienced.

You might have seen their feature length release, "Chicken Run" or "The Curse of the Were Rabbit."

Since 2005, we’ve all been waiting impatiently for the next installment of the Wallace & Gromit series and now we have it. "Wallace & Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death" is an equal to all the films which have come before it.

In it, Wallace and Gromit have opened a new business — a bakery called Top Bun — but a deadly murderer is targeting all the bakers in town. Twelve have been killed and who will be next to make it a baker’s dozen? Wallace has found true love and is totally oblivious to the danger at hand. His love, not Gromit? No, it's the ampley endowed Piella Bakewell, former star of the Bake-O-Lite bread commercials who's he's dreamed of for years. Can the ever alert Gromit discover who the real killer is before his master Wallace becomes the next and 13th victim? The plot that answers this question will delight and dazzle.

Good for kids of all ages (though the plot may be a little scary for the under 5 crowd), it will make the trip go by faster in the car, or keep you laughing at home or in the motel room, no matter what age.

And while you’re at it, go back and see the early films. They are really something!! And all are still available through amazon.com.
