Since it is now known that many plastic water bottles can leach BPA (a chemical with potential health hazards) into the fluids we and our kids drink, aluminum and stainless steel water bottles have become extremely popular.  BPA-free, these updated versions of the old "canteens" are seen as a safe alternative and can be found in a myriad of solid colors, cheerful patterns, with logos, etc. enabling you to be "green," healthy, and fashionable.

So we thought the issue of health and safety was resolved...but have you ever tried to clean the inside and the bottom of those narrow-necked metal bottles? It's impossible.

Not to worry. Seattle Sports has introduced a 1 litre, stainless steel water bottle featuring a screw-off upper half which allows you to get down to the bottom and clean any bacterial growth gathering there, as well as the opportunity to put ice cubes into your drink. Additionally, the removable top becomes a cup, so you can share your water, juice or sports drink. Available in silver/silver, silver/red, silver/blue and silver/green, the only downside is that as it holds a litre of water, it might be too heavy to carry around.
