Spending time in the Boston, Massachusetts area this Halloween? The Seaport Hotel, known for its luxurious accommodations, is offering a spooktacular package you and your family can experience at a frightfully low cost.

On Friday, October 30, families and guests will be treated to a $119 overnight rate that any conservative spender can appreciate. On Friday, your Halloween festivities will begin with your kids suited up in their favorite costumes, trick or treating throughout the hotel’s various departments. Once their bags are full of sweet treats for the night (or for the rest of the year), you can take a stroll through the “Hall of Horrors,” a not-too-scary exhibit that will feature a jack-o-lantern display and more bona fide Halloween décor.

After prying away your kid’s bags full of chocolates and candy corn, you can sit down to a real meal offered by the hotel's Aura Restaurant. This eatery contains a dedicated play space where kids can horse around and hopefully work off their Halloween candy high. Face painting and a Halloween-themed movie will be offered for your kid’s amusement.  Also, Chef Rachel Stein will be featuring a Halloween themed menu that includes kid friendly staples such as “Dracula Blood Soup,” (tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich), “Sweet Brain Nuggets” (sweet and sour chicken) and “Fried Bat Wings (just your basic chicken wing). And since these probably don’t sound very appetizing to mom and dad, adults are more than welcome to order from the Aura’s regular menu which features gourmet dishes such as tuna tartare, scallops and pan-roasted salmon.

If you decide that one night just isn’t enough time to take advantage of all the other hotel amenities, the Seaport is offering a $169 overnight rate on Saturday, October 31, where you will receive a $50 Seaport gift card, good to use throughout the property. Adults can also enjoy the relaxing colors and the remarkable architectural details of the Japanese inspired Tamo Bar, which will present their own Halloween perks, such as Halloween-themed cocktails.

This presentation is offered from October 3 to November 1 at the Salem Old Town Hall located at 32 Derby Square.

For a slightly unsettling night-time outdoor excursion, Spiritways: A Night in Besieged Salem Village allows you to enter the world of the infamous “afflicted girls,” by exploring the historic structures of Pioneer Village. The tours occur every Saturday night in October and show times are hourly from 7:13 to 11:13pm.  Call 978/867-4767 for more information.
