France for US$116/N when Château De Versailles Honors Louis XIV at Home

Don your powdered wigs and take a promenade with the King through the beautiful gardens of the Château de Versailles.

Beginning October 20 and lasting through early February, guests can get a taste of royalty when they visit the exquisite former residence and seat of power of the renowned Sun King, Louis XIV.

The exhibition is unique in the fact that this is the first time the king has been thrust into the limelight, a baffling notion for the ever-eminent and glamorous French leader.

The exhibition will aim to highlight Louis XIV’s widespread influence in the realm of the arts. From the king’s personal relationships with talented members of his cabinet to the splendor of the estate itself, the experience will provide families with a rich history and fine understanding of 18th century French art.

While the thousands of courtiers, ministers and servants no longer roam the halls attending to the always-watchful king, ornate sculptures, intricate and impressive objets d’art designed under the king’s orders remain, treating guests to some French nobility of their own.

After a leisurely and disorienting stroll through the Hall of Mirrors followed by a tour of the geometrical gardens and the marble balustrade of the Grand Trianon, guests will receive a rare invitation to the estate of Marie Antoinette, who often stole away here to extricate herself from the pomp of Versailles.

Tickets for the exhibition are approximately $22 for adults and admission is free for visitors under 18-years of age. For more information on booking or a history of the estate, visit the Château De Versailles website.
