Why Ski - Tahoe Resort Spring Family BnB Package starts at $179/N for 4
The AAA Four-Diamond Resort at Squaw Creek is situated at the base of Squaw Valley USA (home to the 1960 Winter Olympics). It features a ski-in, ski-out chairlift rising to Snow King Peak, providing quick access to one of the country's finest mountain resorts. Condé Nast Traveler calls it one of the "Top 50 Ski Resorts in North America" and, with more than 4,000 acres of terrain served by an extensive network of 33 lifts, we couldn't agree more. However, your family doesn't need to ski to enjoy this place, that's the beauty of this deal.
Now, this family resort is offering comforts and amenities that make an end-of-winter vacation extremely desirable for a family, especially during turbulent economic times. Imagine having a satisfying (and free) breakfast before venturing out to sightsee around gorgeous Lake Tahoe, or take your little ones out sledding next to the exclusive, on-property chairlift. And picture returning after a full day of strolling or sledding or snowshoeing on snow-covered slopes to a cozy fireplace with the ones you love.
The Resort at Squaw Creek has 405 lavishly appointed residential-style guestrooms and suites; the decor creates an inviting ambiance with muted tones and rich textures. Custom furnishing, slate entryways, ceramic tiled bathrooms, wireless internet, and LCD flat-screen TVs may be a desirable distraction from the grand picture windows that reveal the sweeping views of the Sierra Nevada range, ponderosa forest and lush meadowlands.
There is lots more fun in store, as you can see in Laura Sutherland's review of the Squaw Valley USA mountain resort. In addition to an outdoor pool and hot tub complex to thrill the family, the resort offers the Mountain Buddies Kids Kamp children’s program for ages 4-12. Other on-property family activities include dog sledding, horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice skating, sledding, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. All outdoor activities are weather and conditions permitting.
On the dining front, Ristorante Montagna has a shared plate menu for this season with family-friendly Italian fare. Additionally, the resort offers the outdoor Chuckwagon sun deck venue as well as Sandy’s Pub and Six Peaks Grille. For parents who get a workout on the slopes, there's a full-service Spa at Squaw Creek, which features the signature Tahoe Hot Stone Massage.
From April 4 - May 1, 2010, guests can enjoy the Spring Family B & B Package, which includes nightly accommodations in a deluxe guestroom and breakfast for up to two adults and two children (ages 12 and under). Rates start at $179/N per room, and this offer is actually priced lower than last year. And, best yet for the skiers and riders in the family, snow conditions at the resort have been awesome.
"Skiing and snowboarding conditions have been excellent at Lake Tahoe this season," confirms Richard McLennan, Resort at Squaw Creek General Manager. "With the abundant snowpack, spring skiing is setting up beautifully."
To reserve the Spring Family B & B Package, call 800/401-9501, or log on to Visit Squaw Creek and utilize promo code SBREAK. Resort fees and taxes are additional.

My family loves this place. I've been out twice with the kids and they adore the pool surrounded by the mountains. Food's really good too. Good bet for family fun.
