Mexico Top o' Line All-Inclusive - $666/N for Lucky Family of 4
20 Mar 2010 - 01:55

This summer, what with the border scares, the world economy, and anything else that may pop up, we still believe Mexico will be one hot family vacation destination. And we don't necessarily mean cheap -- we mean top value for dollar spent.

In a special promotion from the ultra-luxe Velas Hotels, families will receive an automatic upgrade when booking the lowest priced suite category at any of the all-inclusive Velas Resorts, whether in the region of Riviera Maya along the Caribbean (pictured above), or in Puerto Vallarta or Riviera Nayarit on the Pacific coast.

So what? you're asking. Check out Family Travel Forum's review of the Grand Velas Resort and you'll see why these are very special places. While this upgrade offer is valid from June 1-August 31, 2010, there are some other current packages for families.

We especially like the "Go Green Kids Package" which enables young visitors to learn to care for the environment through fun experiences. During your stay, your family will share a Parlor or Master Suite with ocean view and balcony and receive a Go Green Kids Club welcome amenity. As part of the all-inclusive offer, two children up to 16 years of age stay and eat free when sharing the suite with 2 adults. (Lucca and Frida are the resort's two family restaurants and the food is great.)

In more good news, the Velas Resorts have decided to waive the single supplement fee charged single parents during this same time period. so that solo parents or grandparents can have kids under 16 stay with them at no charge.

In the complimentary Kids Club Go Green Program, kids learn how to connect with nature by learning to "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" and receive an introduction to ocean life and tides when they drop in between 9am and 9pm. Additionally, at the Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, families have the rare opportunity to release marine turtles -- who have hatched on the beach-- back to the sea.

Other packages include spa treatments that complement sessions at the Life Fitness Center, work-out programs with a personal trainer, exercise programs such as yoga, Pilates and capoeira, tennis, paddle tennis court (day & night). Best yet, the Family Spa offer includes one 50-minute massage per adult per stay and one 25-minute Kids Massage per child (4-16 years) per stay.

Rates vary by season and from March 9th until April 30th, 2010, in a Master or Parlor Suite, they are:
Single occupancy: US$635/N per person
Double occupancy: US$423/N per person
Extra person. US$363/N per person

From May 1st until December 20th, 2010  (in Master or Parlor Suite), they drop again, making summer and fall an even better offer.
Single occupancy: US$500/N per person
Double occupancy: US$333/N per person
Extra person. US$288/N per person.

There is a minimum stay of 3 nights and this promotion only applies for new bookings. Does not apply for groups of 10 suites or more; not combinable with other promotions.

Then again, if you don't want to spring for any spa use, the resort is reporting that some rooms are available from $190/N at Velas Vallarta Suite Resort in Puerto Vallarta to $394/N at Grand Velas Riviera Maya (on Mexico's Atlantic coast) and $425/N at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. These specials may be booked by your travel agent or by visiting the Velas Resorts website.
