Bungee Jump off the Stratosphere with Vegas Family Rooms from $59.08/N

This summer, the Stratosphere of Las Vegas is featuring an "Extreme Thrills Package" which, as you can imagine, includes overnight accommodations, two sets of Tower Passes and tickets for two Thrill Rides. You'll begin at the Tower's Observation Deck that juts out at 1,149 feet into the Vegas skyline, and then enjoy two thrill rides of your choice per person -- and it's only $59 plus pennies per night.

Ready to try the highest bungee jump in the world? Or more exactly, as the Guiness World Records designated the winning SkyJump thrill ride, "The world's highest commercial decelerated descent."  If so, join us for a fall off the Stratosphere Tower from 855 feet up, at a rate of 40mph, and see how the family feels about Las Vegas. (The hotel has several cool rides, but sorry, this deal excludes Sky Jump, a $99.99 once-in-a-lifetime add-on.)

Trying the SkyJump is priceless. As one of the many attractions that "stay in Vegas" its reputation has already extended far and wide in family travel circles. (You can read more about Las Vegas' Family Attractions on FTF.)  This video shows how Senior Master Sgt Darryl LeBouef of nearby Neills Air Force Base suits up to be one of the first to try SkyJump. Inspirational!

The Stratosphere Hotel Tower has long been popular with families for its indoor/outdoor viewing deck, which offers up beautiful panoramic views of the expansive desert and the world-famous sparkling Vegas strip. In addition to the tower and a large casino (of course), there are six restaurants, serving everything from gourmet dinners to fun snacks.

Two fabulous swimming pools feature poolside activities, but be warned, the Beach Club 25 on the 25th floor is strictly adults-only, with or without bathing suit tops. The lower level pool has great Premier Guestrooms surrounding the large pooldeck, so that's a much better choice for the family. There's also a shopping mall and a rental car desk for when you're ready to get out and explore the beautiful desert nearby.

So, more about the "Extreme Thrills Package." It's part of a Summer Sale going on past Labor Day, where families can save on room rates when booked online, making this place is a bargain. A basic room rate for a mid-week August stay is only $59.08 plus tax and resort fee (that gets you 1 elevation ticket to the Stratosphere Tower and 2 thrill rides each for up to 2 people, so if everyone is into it, you'll have to pay a bit more).

In any case, with these rates, we think you'll have some vacation budget to spare... if you dare, that is.
