A Lennon Tribute and a Liverpool Beatles Hotel for £150/Night

You’re driving in the car with your kids when suddenly the Beatles' Come Together comes on the radio. Nobody reaches for the dial. There are no complaints of “old people music” from the back seat. Everyone just sings along.

Surprised? You shouldn’t be.

A Pew Research Poll taken last year found that across all generations of listeners, the Fab Four are still the most popular pop act in America. If after all these years your family is still caught up in Beatle mania like mine, then consider day-tripping to the gritty city where it all began, Liverpool, England.

To celebrate their beloved son and Beatles cofounder, songwriter and charming eccentric John Lennon, The Beatles Story – an interactive Beatle-themed museum in the band’s hometown – will host a John Lennon Tribute Season from October 9 through December 9.

The two-month celebration will showcase live music, film, poetry and art all inspired by the man who penned such iconic songs as A Hard Day’s Night, Give Peace a Chance and Imagine.

The season will end on a high note with a charity concert on Thursday, December 9 at Liverpool’s Echo Arena. Guest musicians from all backgrounds will pay tribute to Lennon by playing both fan favorites and rarities from the musician's enduring catalogue.

For your stay during John Lennon Tribute Season, we recommend the Hard Days Night Hotel (+44 (0)151/236 1964). In addition to very sleek designs, luxurious accommodations and a great location in the heart of Liverpool, the hotel is filled with Beatles décor and memorabilia.

Every Thursday, the Hard Days Night offers a "Live Music Night" package. For £150/night, guests will receive two tickets to see a Beatles cover band at the legendary Cavern Club as well as two tickets to ride on the Magical Mystery Tour -– a two-hour bus tour of important Beatle’s landmarks in Liverpool.
