Spring Break is Coming: Protect your Student Travelers and $$$

Families whose teens and young adults are planning spring break, school, work study or semester-abroad journeys, will be delighted about an insurance program that covers any eligible U.S. or international student. The policy is available to students and all travelers under age 29 for trips costing under $2,000 and lasting no more than 14 days unless extenuating circumstances apply.

The Worldwide Health Extended plan offers anyone going abroad for 6-12 months a medical evacuation plan, treatment and trip cancellation coverage. Other plans, for example for more expensive trips, are available at different rates. With reimbursement for trip cancellation or delay, baggage loss or delay, medical protection, as well as emergency travel services such as baggage tracking and bail bonds, this individual insurance is priced according to trip cost with a maximum fee of $82 for a $2,000 journey.

Though more expensive than their most basic policy, students who are enrolled in TravelGuard International's StudentGuard plan will have the added benefits of coverage for cancellation of a trip due to acts of terrorism or the revocation of military leave; and reimbursement for the cost of missed flights or unauthorized credit card use.
