The Old Key Lime House
We just got back from a family trip to Boca Raton and discovered the best, funky, Key West-style restaurant in Lantana.
The Old Key Lime House (formerly the 1889 Old House) at 300 E. Ocean Avenue (561/582-1889.) Although it looks like a Victorian house on the road from the front, out back it's a very casual seafood place right on a pier with small marina overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway.
There's a great, inexpensive menu of the local catch, lots of choice for the kids. Great grilled fish, soggy conch fritters according to my wife, and our son loved spending his allowance at the fish food machine so he could toss some nuggets out to the voracious catfish circling the pier.
Good music and a semi-rowdy bar crowd with live band are next door, but you'll feel right at home and like you've really arrived in Florida.
