My Trip to Australia

My husband and I are in the throes of planning my first, and his second trip "Down Under."  We will be flying from L.A. to Auckland on Air New Zealand, and from there, fly immediately to Adelaide. 

We will spend a three days in Adelaide with a side trip to Kangaroo Island (I can't wait) and a visit to the National Railway Museum (he can't wait) and then ride "The Overland" train to Melbourne.  During our two days here, I am looking forward to something called the "Urban Penguin Tour," among other things. The next stop will be Sydney (for 3 days) where we are looking forward to seeing the famous Opera House and other city highlights, and have a day trip to the Blue Mountains.

We will fly back to Auckland and spend a five days on the north Island, ride yet another train, and visit Rotorua. 

Our return flight to NY will be a killer.  Auckland to L.A., and then a few hour layover at LAX, and straight onto the Red Eye.  I wonder if I'll ever get straighted out, back to Daylight Savings Time on the East Coast!
