The only winner of our Top 10 award for three years running, Tyler Place Family Resort remains a favorite choice of parents who return year after year, with newborns through teens, sometimes even as grandparents hosting a reunion! The Tyler family has been providing camp-style family vacations with the right combination for over 75 years: a low-key setting, the adventure of sleep-away camp, relaxation, playtime with our children, plus guilt-free time to be adults.
In a woodsy, 165-acre lakeside setting, guests can choose the modern lodge or private cottages with fireplaces and kitchenettes. Active adults enjoy unlimited canoeing, biking, watersports, aerobics classes, tennis, and access to nearby golf. Those seeking relaxation can try yoga instruction, craft and art classes, guided nature walks, or curling up in an Adirondack chair facing Lake Champlain.
The health-conscious and experienced kitchen staff prepares enticing and extremely tasty buffets always offering several choices, home-made soups and freshly-baked breads and desserts. The dining room is for adults (except for the optional family-breakfast room) as all youngsters enjoy meals with their sitters or groups, making a romantic dinner not only thinkable, but positively doable!
Tyler Place is only open from late May until early September. Programs for superb babycare vary between the beginning and end of the season (when your baby is cared for in a group situation), and the peak, mid-summer weeks (when individual parents' helper accompanies your baby to the program, or for one-on-one care.) Feel free to call the friendly staff for an explanation of infant/toddler program fees, which include meals for toddler and caregiver, cribs, high chairs, child seats, and your Parent's' Helpers, paid by the hour.
Staff are personally selected by the Tyler family and trained in First Aid, child development and safety procedures, and most are First Aid and Infant and Child CPR-certified. Special baby amenities include a wide array of developmental toys, stimulating play, a petting zoo, buggy rides, and indoor and outdoor wading pools.
An unusually wide variety of complimentary sports and educational and cultural programs is also available for children infants to 15-years-old including one-on-one parents helpers and age-appropriate activities, but afternoons are strictly reserved for leisurely family time, a period FTF members remember most fondly.
