When speaking of everything-for-one-price vacations, Club Med, which created the "all-inclusive" concept over 50 years ago, is always touted as a family favorite. Known for its sports and recreation, meals, upbeat and friendly international staff, as well as superb children's programs and childcare, Club Med consistently earns high marks from FTF's members. The renovated and upgraded village in Ixtapa is located on a broad white beach overlooking the vast, warm Pacific. You will be welcomed at the refurbished reception center and shown to your hacienda-style, air-conditioned room, upgraded with new furnishings, TV, and telephone. Swim, sail, kayak, play tennis, try the new in-line skating course, or the circus program. Off property, you take an excursion to explore the Sierra Madre Mountains or the cute, touristy fishing port of Zihuatanejo.
While you relax and enjoy, your children are fully engaged in extensive programs. With Petit, Mini and Junior/Teen Clubs for ages 2 to 17 (6 days a week from 9am-9pm), and the Baby Club for ages 4 to 23 months (6 days a week from 9:30am-5:30pm), Ixtapa is one of the three villages in North America to offer specialized infant care. As your older kids climb, go on boat rides, try tennis and kayaking, and even learn how to fly the trapeze at the Circus Workshop, your youngest will be cared for by experienced Club Med staff in the Baby Club. Each baby is assigned her own crib to rest comfortably after a morning of playing and walks.
Lunches are specially-prepared by the Chef of the Baby Dining Room. Afternoons are filled with entertaining puppets, clowns, and indoor/outdoor play until a freshly-cooked dinner is served. The Convenience Room, open 24 hours, is stocked with baby paraphernalia and supplies so that parents can provide feedings and snacks whenever necessary.
