Cincinnati Union Terminal, a renovated art deco train terminal and national historic landmark, houses this comprehensive Museum Center, which is comprised of the Cincinnati History Museum, the Museum of Natural History & Science, the Robert D. Lindner Family OMNIMAX Theater and the Cinergy Children's Museum all under one roof. The nearly 30,000 square-foot children's museum is designed for infants to ten-year-olds and includes a "Kids' Town," an adventure-based wilderness setting called "The Woods," and the "Energy Zone" play area.

The Cincinnati Zoo offers seasonal exhibits based upon habitat, and children's programs separated by age level (3-year-olds, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9 and 10-13-year-olds). Newer exhibits include a walking safari with Asian elephants, okapi and giraffe in a greatly expanded, naturalistic environment; an arctic exhibit with polar bears in a frozen tundra complete with waterfalls, caves and an underwater viewing area; Gorilla World, and a fun children's zoo.

Take a break from the exciting city attractions with an Ohio River sightseeing cruise. The Lunch Buffet Cruise, from noon-2 pm, (Monday- Saturday only) provides a two-hour break complete with games, entertainment and buffet, which includes dessert. The Newport Aquarium houses 7,000 aquatic creatures in specifically themed galleries. Visit the spectacular sharks exhibit, where visitors can study a variety of sharks, stingrays, and exotic fish as they walk through the 84-foot-long winding tunnel or observe feeding time at the largest open-air shark viewing area. There are King Penguins and Gentoo Penguins set against an Arctic stage of falling snow. In winter, your kids may prefer to visit the swamplands to observe the American alligators at a safe distance. Hidden Treasures of the Rainforest Islands is an exciting newer exhibit with Asian otters, pythons, and lorikeets.
